about the US tarrifs

to US customers, as you maybe know started from May 2nd, packages sent from China will be charged tax. Before that, packages which are under $800 are tax-free.

scroll to the bottom to see the conclusion if it is too long to read.

Started from April 27th, the shipping companies will start to update their new shipping methods and new price due to the tarrifs. So during these days, you might noticed some seller stop to accept orders or hold on the orders to US and we are also focusing on this.

Here is what we have got these days.

update on April 26th: YUN EXPRESS and SF EXPRESS (the major regular shipping companies we are using )updated the new policy.

SF EXPRESS: started from April 27th, they will use new shipping price, shipping price increased by about $10, shipping time increased by about 1 week. But they will pre-charge tax of the item value. so it means final shipping price will be "shipping fee+pre-charged tax fee" but how the pre-charged tax is calculated is still unknown, they might publish it few days later.

YUN EXPRESS: started from April 27th, they will use new shipping price, shipping price increased by about $10 and it includes the tax fee which means seller and buyer will not need to pay for tax (on most conditions) and the shipping time will increase by about 1 weeks.

update on April 27th: we double confirmed with YUN EXPRESS about the shipping method. After comparing and thinking, we think under current situation, YUN EXPRESS is still a good choice if it can really go like descirbed. And we will use their service started from April 27th.

There are still few days to May 2nd, so these days, other shipping companies will keep update their service so the conditions might change fast these days so that why some sellers choose to wait as they want to take action after May 2nd when things are settled down and we will keep following that and upate it here.

As for express shipping like DHL, FEDEX, UPS, here is what we got from shipping company, in short, there could be around 160% tax or more, so they asked us must confirm with buyer that buyer will pay for the tax. if buyer refuses to pay, then the tax will be transfer to seller. So, if you want to use DHL, FEDEX..etc, please make sure you are willing to pay for the potential tax. (there could be tax, could be no tax, nobody knows how it goes now.)

Finally, here is a short conclusion:
